Over the next few weeks, Ford will be mailing the Performance Upgrade USB drive to all MyFord Touch® owners with an upgrade-ready system.

Owners who receive the Performance Upgrade in the mail have everything they need to get started. Those who have vehicles equipped with Navigation will also receive a replacement SD card, which is required to complete the upgrade.

Quick Start Guide

  1.  1. Start your vehicle and turn on your audio system. They must remain running throughout the upgrade process, which could last up to 60 minutes.
  2.  2. Insert the Performance Upgrade USB drive into your vehicle's media hub. The system will upgrade automatically.
  3.  3. When installation is complete, touch "OK" and remove the USB drive to enjoy your upgraded system.
  4.  4. If your vehicle is equipped with an SD Card Navigation system, replace the SD card with the one you received in the mail to install new navigation map data.

 

When you have finished the upgrade, you’ll need to pair your phone, download your phonebook, and re-enter any saved Navigation points. Also, be sure to bring the USB drive back to your computer to confirm your upgrade using your SYNC Owner account.
